Ferne Design Studio is a landscape and outdoor living studio rooted in the art of backyard transformation. With a deep understanding of space, texture, and seasonality, Ferne designs timeless outdoor environments that feel good to live in—casual but considered, lush but low-maintenance, peaceful but full of life.

Thread partnered with Ferne on a lean brand sprint to lay the groundwork for launch. Over the course of a few weeks, we worked with their team to define their positioning, design a warm and grounded visual identity, and build a small but mighty microsite to introduce the studio to the world.

The identity was designed to feel like a natural extension of Ferne’s work: subtle and textural, timeless but unfussy, organic but structured. Inspired by architectural sketches, sun-washed flora, and the rhythm of seasons, the brand system nods to the quiet pleasure of an outdoor space that’s been shaped with care.

The microsite was built to feel just as intentional—focused, elegant, and easy to maintain. A place to show a bit of work, say what matters, and invite connection.
